Lars Lundberg, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Revenue for Merrick Bank’s Recreational Lending business, has been named to the National Marine Lending Association (NMLA) board of directors.
Lundberg, who has a background in corporate strategy and business management, leads a team that works closely with marine dealers, brokers, and key business partners to deliver a high-quality experience across the marine indirect lending process – from dealer onboarding to complex financing opportunities.

In his role on the NMLA’s board, Lundberg will partner with industry leaders to support the growth and long-term health of the marine lending industry.
“One area I’m particularly interested in is helping strengthen collaboration between lenders, dealers, and manufacturers,” said Lundberg. “We all benefit when we share ideas, discuss challenges openly, and work together on solutions that make financing more accessible and efficient for consumers.”
Merrick Bank’s Recreational Lending team works as a lending partner to dealers, financing new and used RVs, motor homes, traditional boats and horse, utility and cargo trailers. Additionally, Merrick helps dealers serve a broader range of customers, including those with past credit challenges.
“We focus on consistent underwriting, so dealers know what to expect, and we pride ourselves on a streamlined funding process. When a complete funding package for a boat is submitted, we’re often able to fund the loan the same day or by the next business day.”
As part of the bank’s dealer finance programs, the team also provides dealers training, both in person and virtually, to help finance managers understand Merrick’s programs and systems.
“That combination of consistency, speed, and dealer support is what we believe sets Merrick apart.” Said Lundberg.
Over its 40 plus year history, the NMLA has focused on educating lenders about healthy marine lending practices. They provide exclusive retail loan and floor plan financing statistics and trends to its members throughout the year, which Merrick Bank utilizes.
